The Daily Announcements pertain to 5th-8th grades only.

 

Friday, November 9:

  • 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls are reminded that the next open gym for volleyball will take place tomorrow.  6th graders will come in from 10-11 and 7th and 8th graders will come in from 11-noon.
  • Be sure to get your t-shirt orders in for the, “Whiteout for Wallace Night,” on November 27th at home at 5pm.  The order deadline is November 11th. The link can be found on the school webpage.

  • Be sure to turn in your rollerblading money for PE by November 20th!

  • The 7th grade girls’ basketball team moved one step closer to accomplishing their first goal of the season: win the conference. The ladies defeated rival Eureka 36-14. Great overall team win! The 7th grade wraps up their regular season next Monday and Tuesday. Great job ladies!

  • Congrats to the 8th grade Warrior Girls Basketball team on their victory of the previously 1 loss Eureka Hornets 32-21.  The game was a grueling battle which was much needed for the Warriors who now move to 18-0 on the year.

  • All Jazz Band students and 7th/8th grade percussionists should come to the band room after homeroom to set up for the Veterans Day Assembly.

  • Davis and Cunningham PE do not change

  • 8th Grade Health report to the West Gym during your health period

 

Thursday, November 8:

  • Chorus - don’t forget to wear red, white and blue for tomorrow’s Veteran’s Day assembly.

  • Come Out Tonight and support the Warrior Girls Basketball Teams as they take on Eureka.  The game theme is black-out. Lets pack the stands and be loud, cheering on the Warriors!

  • Congratulations to the 8th grade boys basketball team in their hard fought battle with a victory over my former team the Chillicothe Mustangs.  Great job Warriors!

  • Congratulations to the 7th grade boys basketball team for their victory over the Mustangs as well.  They won in a convincing manor by 20 points!

 

Wednesday, November 7:

  • Madrigal Singers:  We WILL rehearse today.  See you in the chorus room as soon as you finish eating lunch.

  • Congratulations to the boys BB teams last night.  Both teams competed in 2 hard fought battles. The 7th grade won in a BIG way as they defeated the Little Giants in the end by 1 point.  The 8th grade made it a total team effort! They stepped up the defense and defeated the giants by a 13 point margin. Great job. Good luck tonight as the boys will travel to Chillicothe.

 

Tuesday, November 6:

  • A reminder that volleyball open gym will be held tonight from 6:00-7:30 in the West Gym.

  • 8th graders who still need to turn in Fannie May money should see Mrs. Wilmarth sometime today.

  • Speech team members,  please pick up your schedule for Friday outside of mrs. Ballard's today!!

  • Attention Students: Congratulations our first quarter Arrow Award winners! The Arrow Award is our outstanding character award given to students who have gone above and beyond to represent what it means to be Germantown Hills Warrior! These students are kind, respectful, and responsible. Our winners are:

    • From 5th Grade: Ellie Jewel, Caden Ulrich, Ella Peplewski, Jenna Campbell
    • 6th Grade: Ella Russell, Tyce Bucy, Ellie Schaffer, Cain Ramage
    • 7th Grade: Lucy Mischler, Olivia Cushing, Gavin O’Laughlin, Kayla Alderson, Maddie Morris
    • 8th Grade: Carrigan Craig, Layn Jackson, Alex Feld, Rachel Cardin,and Jaylen Hentz.

 

Monday, November 5:

  • Congratulations to Alexander Schroff and Audrey Heil who represented GHMS in the ILMEA District 3 Honor Jazz Bands on Saturday at Olivet Nazarene University.

  • Great job by the boys BB teams as they competed in the Sir James Watson Shootout Saturday at Peoria High School.  Unfortunately the 7th grade took it on the chin going down to a much bigger Bloomington Jr. High team. The 8th grade battled Sterling Jr. High out of Peoria and came out on top with the win.  Great job by both teams

  • The following students need to see Dr. Greer after announcements: Kassidy Mullens, Kristen Hoenert, Madelyn Lange, Kayla Alderson, Teagan Pond, and Abbie Jewel.

 

Friday, November 2:

  • 8th Graders - your Fannie May money is due today.  If you forgot it, you may turn it in on Monday. Please don’t procrastinate getting your money back to Mrs. Wilmarth - there is a HUGE bill with a payment deadline.  If you wait too long, you’ll forfeit your free candy.
  • Rebecca Dawdy and Gabriella Lowrence need to see Mrs. Ballard when announcements are over!

  • Congratulations to the 7th Grade Lady Warrior Basketball team on their impressive 31-27 victory over the Lady Knights from Fieldcrest. Izzy VandeSchraaf led the way with 10 points with a big help from Bri Bessert, Mackinzi Beccue and Olivia Taylor. The girls are now 13-3. The regular season wraps up in the next two weeks! Come out and support your Warriors!

  • Congrats to the 8th Grade Warrior Girls Basketball team on a complete team Victory over Fieldcrest.  The Warriors were firing on all cylinders, holding the Knights to only 1 basket in the second half.

  • Davis and Cunningham PE don’t change, go to West Gym

 

Thursday, November 1:

  • Speech team members who have not picked up their t-shirts from Mrs. Ballard need to do so today!!
  • Please make sure your area is clean in the West Gym before leaving for class in the morning. There is no reason to leave personal belongings or bits of trash on the floor.  Be responsible.

 

Wednesday, October 31:

  • Happy Halloween!
  • Speech team members: pick up your t-shirts from Mrs. Ballard some time today!

  • Congratulations to the 7th Grade Warrior Basketball team on their dominant victory over Chilli/Mossville last night 49-7. Everyone made great contributions in a complete game win! The 7th grade’s record is 12-3. Next game is Thursday at Fieldcrest.

  • Congrats as well to the 8th grade Warrior Basketball team as they move to 15-0 with a complete team victory over Chillicothe/Mossville.  All the 8th graders got into the scoring column last night with Camryn Youngquist leading the way with 14 points.

  • Madrigals - come to rehearsal today only if you are interested in trying out for solos.   

 

Tuesday, October 30:

  • Speech team members...If you have not picked up your awards from the Dunlap speech contest, please stop by Mrs. Ballard’s room after this morning’s announcements!
  • Congrats to the 7th grade Warrior Basketball team on their 33-18 victory over Pekin Edison last night. Izzy VandeSchraaf led the way with 22 points with contributions from Mackinzi Beccue and Emma Hernandez. The 7th grade is now 11-3 and plays again tonight against a scrappy Chilli/Mossville team. Come out and support your Warriors!

 

Monday, October 29:

  • Health for 7th and 8th grade begins today.  1st hour girls will report to the health room .  3rd hour boys will report to the health room.
