8th graders - have you started looking for the perfect pics for your graduation video? Tick-tick-tick-tick….that’s the sound of time running out to get those pictures turned in. Start bugging your moms NOW!
BIG CONGRATULATIONS to the Warrior Dance Team. They continued the tradition of winning SECOND IN STATE in KICK on Saturday in Springfield at the IDTA STATE DANCE Competition. This is the third year in a row that our dance team has brought home a STATE trophy. Girls, your coaches are proud of you and all the hard work it took to accomplish this THREE-PEAT! WAY TO GO!
All band and chorus students who signed up to guide a visiting school for the contest we are hosting should meet in the band room during their recess on Friday.
The GHMS Scholastic Bowl will travel to Dunlap Middle School tonight. Good luck, Warriors!

SPANISH students Group B. Just a reminder that Mrs. Ganson is on a 7th grade field trip today. You will be going to Mrs. Ballard’s room. Please bring a book to read or homework.
All 8th grade band and chorus students will meet in the band room during activity period today.
All 7th grade students, teachers, and chaperones please use the restroom and head to the West Gym with two pens or pencils and, whatever else you plan on bringing on our field trip, as soon as announcements are over. Upon entering the gym, please sit down together and wait quietly to be called to load the bus. Thank you.
The winning streaks continued for the 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams who both posted two set victories over Peru Parkside last night. The 7th grade won 25-18 and 25-21 and the 8th grade won 25-8 and 25-5.
Congratulations to the Scholastic Bowl A-team who dominated Washington Middle School last night and won 235-160. The B-team battled in a close match, but Washington squeaked ahead at the end with a score of 170-145.
Thursday, February 13:
Good luck to the 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams who play Peru Parkside tonight at home. Game time is 4:15. Make plans to come out and support the Warriors!

Wednesday, February 12:
Happy birthday, Abraham Lincoln.
Congratulations to both Scholastic Bowl teams who came up with big wins at St. Mary’s last night. The A team won 190-80, and the B team walked off with a 200-130 point win. Great job,Warriors!
Congratulations to all 3 volleyball teams who posted victories over rival Metamora last night. The 7th grade was up first and played their best match of the year winning 25-8 and 25-11. The 8th grade struggled at times but persevered for a 25-19 and 25-17 win. The 6th grade had to rally after losing the first game to win in 3. The Warriors next play at home tomorrow night vs Peru Parkside.
Cheerleaders- Mrs. Hensley is still missing several uniforms and pom poms. Your uniform needs to be washed appropriately and returned with your pom poms as soon as possible. Thank you.
For large group pictures today - if you have picture order forms, just bring them with you when you are called to the gym for your group picture.

Scholastic Bowl team members should get your lunch quickly as soon as the bell rings at 11:03, and bring it to Mrs. Anderson’s room during lunch/recess for lunch and practice today.
The cast list for this year’s school play will be posted outside of Mrs. Ballard’s room and outside of the office at the end of the school day today.
Cheerleaders- As a reminder your uniforms and pom poms need to returned to Mrs. Hensley by tomorrow Tuesday, Feb. 11
Candy grams are on sale today and all week during lunch! The cost is $1. Bring your money to lunch so you can participate in this fun student council event!
