Friday, January 17:
All students who tried out for Scholastic Bowl please meet with Mrs. Anderson in room 238 at 11:03 TODAY when the bell rings for lunch/recess. This will be a very short meeting- just a few minutes. It is important, so please be sure to show up right away.
In intense back and forth action that started at 4:15 and ended almost four hours later, the Warrior Volleyball teams took on Chillicothe last night. The 7th grade was up first. They played their best match of the season to date but came up on the short end of a 25-22 28-26 loss. The 8th grade was up next. The Warriors found themselves down 7-1 early before rallying to take the first set. Chillicothe fought back in the second set forcing the 3 set tie breaker. The Warriors regrouped and came away with the 25-19 win to secure the match. The 6th grade was up next and took care of business beating Chillicothe in 2 sets: 25-19, 25-21. The team would also like to send a big shout out to the students who came to cheer the teams on!
Thursday, January 16:
Student Council meeting TODAY during lunch/recess. Grab you lunch and meet in the PDLC
Deuces were wild last night on the volleyball court as both the 7th and 8th grade teams posted 2 set victories over East Peoria to earn their second win of the season. Tonight the 6th grade gets to join in on the fun as all 3 teams play their first home game of the season against Chillicothe. Game time is 4:15 and we’d love to see a big student section come out to cheer on the teams.

Wednesday, January 15:
Good luck to the 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams who travel to East Peoria tonight. Tomorrow night will be the first home match of the season. Make plans to come out and support the Warriors.

Scholastic Bowl Buzzer Try-Out will be at 2:30 today after school in Mrs. Anderson’s room 238. All students who are going out for Scholastic Bowl should attend. Anyone who wants to try out for the team and was not able to take the written exam yesterday should see Mrs. Anderson to set up a time to complete it.
A fantastic job by both the seventh and eighth grade boys basketball teams last night. The Warriors traveled to take on an undefeated Morton junior high school. Even though the games ended in a loss, the Warriors played one of their best games all year fought hard right down to the bitter end. The Warriors had the last shot of the game to tie or win but unfortunately the shot fell short.Next week is the final week of the season. come out and support the Warriors in their last two home games.
Tuesday, January 14:
Students: When you are out at recess, please make sure that you stay away from the windows of the elementary classrooms. Teachers are trying to teach and that can be a distraction. Also, if elementary parents are coming to check in, make sure you give them space to walk on the sidewalks. Thank you!
Reminder: The written Scholastic Bowl try-out will be offered again today at 2:30 right after school in Mrs. Anderson’s room 238. If you already completed it this morning, you do not need to attend.
The "open gym" session of try-outs will take place in Mrs. Anderson’s room 238 on Wednesday 1/15 from 2:30- 3:30.
If you have any questions, or are unable to attend the written session this afternoon, or the "open gym session tomorrow, and you desire to try out for the Scholastic Bowl team, please see Mrs. Anderson in room 238.
Monday, January 13:
Congratulations to the 6th grade volleyball team who took home first place in the St. Pat’s tourney on Saturday. The Warriors won their matches against Peoria Academy, St. Pats, and Hollis is straight sets to take the title. Good Job Ladies!
Good luck to the boys basketball tonight. Home game at 5:00. Come out have some fun and support your school and team. Be part of the warrior world
Attention 7th/8th chorus students: It’s not too late to sign up for Solo and Ensemble Contest. Stop in the chorus room today during recess to sign up or to work on selecting music.
Friday, January 10:
Attention 8th graders: Just a reminder, your Josten’s orders are due on Tuesday, January 14th. Please make sure you turn those into the office.
The volleyball season started on a high note last night as all 3 teams posted 2 set victories over Dunlap. The 8th grade set the tone for the evening with a 25-12, 25-8 win. The 7th grade team won their first game 25-12. In the second team the team faced an early deficit before rallying for a 26-24 win. The 6th grade was in control all night winning 25-15 and 25-3. Good luck to the 6th grade team who travels to St. Pat’s tomorrow for a tournament.
Floor hockey teams have been posted on the bulletin board outside Mr. Mair’s office. Schedules have been emailed home, but you can also grab a hard copy of the schedule from the bulletin Board. The first game is Monday at 7:10 AM between the Cyclones and the Solar Bears. Good Luck to all players!!

It’s opening night for the volleyball season as the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade teams travel to Dunlap for the first match of the year. Good luck ladies!
REMINDER: Any 6th , 7th , or 8th grader who is interested in Scholastic Bowl should attend a short informational meeting in Mrs. Anderson’s room 238 today at 11: 03 during your lunch/ recess time. Come and find out about Scholastic Bowl if you have never been on the team and are interested. Please come if you have already participated in Scholastic Bowl and want to do so again. Everyone will go to lunch after the meeting. We will be having try-outs for Scholastic Bowl next week.
The Warrior basketball teams returned to the court last night in triumph. Both the 7th and 8th grade teams came out with 2 wins against Fieldcrest Great job . Get over to Washington Middle school tonight as the warriors take on the panthers in a 6:00 battle. Good luck
